Rumor: 12″ Ultra-thin MacBook Pro
According to sources cited at MacRumors.com, Apple will be releasing a 12″ MacBook Pro. This ultra portable machine will sell in the $17-1800 price range.
The new laptop should be even thinner and weigh less than the current models in the MacBook Pro line-up. In spite of this very tiny and lightweight form-factor, the miniaturized MacBook Pro should keep its built-in optical drive and sport a dual-core processor, providing unequalled size/performance ratio in the PC industry, sources told MacScoop.
Many have been wondering when a smaller form factor Intel machine would be released. Early reports were not promising, as Apple stated they wanted to keep their consumer and pro-sumer products as separate as possible (15″ and 17″ vs. 13″). However, with this new information fans everywhere can begin to hope that the 12″ model will be ressurected strong, faster, and thinner than before.
