Hidden OS X Feature - Word Completion

autocompleteForget how to spell a word, but you only know how to spell the first couple of letters? This secret OS X feature lets you easily see all possible spellings in one keystroke–And it works in every Cocoa app. This is a really good foundation Apple has laid, I wish someone would take it one step further and make a full fledged OS X predictive text input system, it would probably help us compensate for the inefficiency that is QWERTY.

Mac Mini - EOL?

macminiKasper, an Editor from Appleinsider seems to think so. Should spark a bunch of debate. Not just on the Apple lose, but back to the whole false rumor and stock pricing bit. Personally I think that the mac mini is too valuable as an easy switcher machine, that Apple can point to and say “Look we have cheap computers too!” Although with it’s dismal sales record I could see the product line expanded to accommodate a “Mac Mini Plus” That included some expandability options, and perhaps an option to escape the craptacular integrated video card. Time will tell!

MacBooks Get a Speed Boost

MacBookThe popular MacBook line received a speed boost this morning from Apple Computers. The notebooks are now available with Intel Core 2 Duo processors at 2.0 to 2.16GHz.

In addition to the speed boost, hard drives are now available starting at 80GB (previously 60GB), a default of 1GB of RAM, and the SuperDrive has been upgraded to 4x DVD-RW DL write speeds.

Just as before, models are offered in black and white, with a 13.3″ widescreen display and an Airport card support 802.11a/b/g/draft-n.
