iPhone Nano Announced… or At Least Predicted

I’m pretty sure I am psychic. Too bad I don’t always publish my predictions.

Based on reports from JP Morgan, and market speculation, Apple will be releasing a slimmer version of the iPhone with an even slimmer price tag. Predicted to be under $300, this will bring the iPhone into the price range of a much larger audience who would like the multi-functional device without putting a huge dent in the pocketbook.

Making the iPhone more affordable may also cause problems for the big phone companies, like Sony Ericcson, Motorola and Nokia. It will be interesting to see their response if these rumors do indeed pan out.

Despite the article on Digg, this is still just speculation based on pending patents and market analysis. They “believe that iPod Nano will be converted into a phone because it’s probably the only way for Apple to launch a lower end phone without severely cannibalizing iPod Nano.” Whether or not this is fact or rumor, the concept is definitely very exciting.
