New iPod Nano Pics?

Fatpods9to5Mac.com is reporting on a “leaked” top secret photograph of the new iPod Nano, which we lovingly call the Fatpod. The picture(photoshopped picture?) shows the new “Fatpods” arranged in a typical Apple advertising fashion on a white background. We don’t know if it is real, but we figured we would let you guys be the judge of that. That black Fatpod looks mighty slick.

UPDATE: It looks like the above picture might actaully be real. 9to5mac.com has posted a note claiming thy were asked by Apple Legal to remove the picture in question. Good thing I still got that little tiny thumbnail up there. Say hello to the new iPod Nano.

Widget Wednesday: Dashbuster

DashbusterDashbuster, A Blockbuster Widget for OS X is the widget for this Wednesday. There has been a Netflix widget called DashFlix for sometime, but those of us who swing to the Blockbuster way(and who doesn’t love those in store rentals), have only recently been given this wonderful little gem. You can see which movies have shipped as well as add new ones to your queue all from the widget!

Fatpods are Coming

FatPod

The word on the street is that Apple is gearing up to released an entirely redesigned iPod Nano, featuring a much larger screen and altered dimensions. The new iPod Nano is also set to receive a new, more muted, color choice selection (shown below). The new Nanos will come in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB sizes. These new Nanos are slated to come out at the end of August or possibily early September along with new iPhone without the phone Widescreen iPods which will effectively refresh the entire iPod family just in time to ramp up for the Christmas shopping season.

Microsoft Releases an Updated RDC 6.0 for Mac

Remote Desktop ClientMicrosoft’s Remote Desktop Client (RDC) allows you to connect to a remotely connect and control a Windows computer. Up until now, the RDC for Mac has not been updated for quite some time, running off Rosetta on the new Intel Macs.

Version 6.0 sports features I’ve been Jones’ing for for ages:

  • Universal Binary
Runs natively on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macs.
  • Remote Desktop Protocol 6.0
Provides better compatibility with Windows Vista, improved security features, and many other improvements.
  • Multiple Sessions
Lets you connect to multiple Windows-based computers at the same time.
  • Improved User Experience
Provides a true Mac experience and improved usability.
  • Improved Customization Options
Lets you change application preferences, including keyboard shortcuts, while you are running a session. Changes take effect the next time that you connect.
  • Dynamic Screen Resizing
Lets you resize your session window or switch to full-screen mode during a session.
  • Improved Printing Support
Supports all configured printers on your Mac. No longer limited to PostScript printers.

Well, I guess technically it is only a Beta release. But, something is better than nothing.
