Quick Tip: Voice Dialing on iPhone

btiphone

Many have complained about the lack of VoiceDialing feature at the phone level. It is quite evident that this feature is lacking in the iPhone featureset, however, it can be used to access to AT&T’s VoiceDial feature called VoiceConnect. You can do this directly on the iPhone by going to “Settings” => “Phone” => “AT&T Services” => “Voice Connect.” In order to use this service you will need to have a remotely hosted phonebook which can be setup at AT&T’s website. While this make take a little longer to setup, once it has been setup it is very seamless allowing you to easily speak the name of someone you wish to call, prompting the iPhone to dial accordingly.

This service is $5/month as it takes the burden of the voice recognition away from the phone and places it with AT&T’s servers.
